A Polícia Militar localizou o táxi roubado por dois criminosos durante assalto no Rio Preto, na tarde de quarta-feira (6). O carro foi encontrado parado numa rua do Bairro Esplanada (Seac), após denúncia anônima dando que dois homens deixaram o trancado na rua próxima a uma vala. De acordo com o boletim de ocorrência lavrado pela PM, o proprietário foi acionado e contratou um guincho para levar o táxi até Conceição da Barra. A PM registra ainda que o táxi foi descaracterizado, com as faixas de identificação arrancadas e as placas substituídas.
Também na quarta, a polícia recuperou outro veículo roubado. Desta vez, na localidade de Pouso Alegre, na Região dos Quilômetros. De acordo com o BO, uma picape Fiat Strada branca, placa PPQ-0483, estaria de posse de um produtor rural, que teria comprado o veículo. No local, além de policiais militares, também compareceram um delegado da Polícia Civil, um escrivão e dois investigadores, que informaram ter apreendido uma quadrilha de roubo de veículos e a picape seria um desses carros.
Para a polícia, o produtor rural disse que o carro foi vendido a ele por um primo, e que não desconfiou que poderia ser roubado. Pagou pelo carro a quantia de R$ 25.000, sendo R$ 5.000 à vista, R$ 5.000 após a colheita e o restante, R$ 15.000, seria quitado no final deste ano.
Também informou que o primo prometeu entregar os documentos do veículo posteriormente. Ao ser questionado sobre o motivo de não ter consultado a placa do carro junto ao Detran, o produtor respondeu que que está em época de colheita e diminuiu a frequência de ida até a Cidade. Afirmou que sabia apenas que os documentos estariam atrasados. A PM registra que o veículo foi levado para o Departamento de Polícia Judiciária de São Mateus.
