A Escola João Pinto Bandeira dominou o futsal da seletiva dos Jogos Escolares do Espírito Santo, classificando três equipes na modalidade para a competição estadual, cuja fase regional será de 18 a 23 de junho em Nova Venécia. A seletiva iniciada quarta-feira termina nesta sexta-feira, com partidas no Ginásio Municipal e no Centro de Vivência. Apenas os campeões ganham o direito de serem os representantes mateenses.
Na manhã desta sexta-feira foram realizadas as decisões de futsal e vôlei. O coordenador da seletiva Eberval Coffler relata que no futsal a Escola João Pinto Bandeira mostrou força, sendo campeã nas categorias infantil masculina, infantil feminina e juvenil masculina, além do segundo lugar na juvenil feminina, na qual a vencedora foi a Escola Ceciliano Abel de Almeida.
O vôlei teve apenas a disputa juvenil, com a Escola Wallace Castello Dutra sendo campeã no masculino e no feminino. As decisões de handebol acontecem nesta tarde.
