Diocese de São Mateus abrirá a Semana Nacional da Família no dia 11, com romaria ao Santuário de Vinhático, em Montanha. A programação está marcada para começar às 16h e inclui caminhada, dinâmica e missa presidida pelo bispo Dom Paulo Bosi Dal’Bó. As atividades seguirão até o dia 18, dentro de cada paróquia.

O tema de 2018 é O Evangelho da Família, alegria para o mundo, o mesmo do 9º Encontro Mundial das Famílias com o Papa Francisco, que acontece em Dublin, Irlanda, de 22 a 26 de agosto. Assessor eclesiástico da Pastoral Familiar na Diocese de São Mateus, o padre Aldir Roque Lóss frisa que tradicionalmente a abertura solene da Semana Nacional da Família na Diocese de São Mateus é realizada com a Romaria das Famílias, a Vinhático. Conforme disse, pelo menos um ônibus de cada uma das paróquias é esperado no dia 11.
Após a abertura diocesana, cada paróquia desenvolve a partir de domingo uma programação específica. Padre Aldir relata, por exemplo, que deve ter passeio ciclístico, caminhada, adoração ao Santíssimo, conferência, evangelização, momento de catequese e oração nas famílias.
Cada família receberá um folder com direcionamento para as orações nas casas em cada dia, que também terá um ato de acender uma vela. Padre Aldir salienta que a Cáritas Diocesana encomendou uma vela especial que pode ser adquirida pelos católicos pelo valor de R$ 5, cujos recursos serão destinados a ajudar a Cáritas Nacional.
