Brasileiros que ficaram mais de três eleições sem votar ou justificar a ausência têm até a próxima quarta-feira (9) para regularizar a situação. O cidadão deve ir ao cartório eleitoral de posse do título de eleitor caso o possua, além de um comprovante de residência e um documento oficial de identificação pessoal que tenha, no mínimo, nome, filiação, data de nascimento e nacionalidade. No caso dos homens, também é necessário levar o comprovante de quitação militar.
