A mãe do produtor Giovanni Sossai, Maria Venturini Sossai, expressa o otimismo nas lavouras de café de Jaguaré.

A maioria dos produtores de Jaguaré iniciou nesta semana e deve prosseguir até o fim de junho a colheita do café conilon. O clima é de otimismo em relação a 2017. O produtor Carlos Giovanni Sossai disse que na fazenda dele, em Córrego Vargem Grande, a perspectiva é de aumento de sacas em 50%. Além da produção, ele frisa que a qualidade do grão está melhor e maior.

Giovanni frisa que a safra deste ano atrasou um pouco para começar devido às chuvas. Alguns produtores já haviam iniciado a colheita, mas a maioria começou mesmo nesta semana, um mês após o que normalmente acontece.

“A perspectiva de produção é boa porque tivemos o ano de 2017 de muita chuva. A perspectiva para Jaguaré segundo o Incaper é de 400 mil sacas, que é o dobro do ano passado. Mas ainda é longe do normal. Jaguaré já chegou a produzir 800 mil sacas” – explica Giovanni.

O produtor argumenta que em decorrência dos três anos de seca anteriores a 2017, várias lavouras no Município foram erradicadas por falta de água. “Se o tempo continuar bem, as chuvas se mantendo, a gente volta a ter uma normalidade em 2021, no mínimo”, salienta. Giovanni reforça que atualmente o valor da saca de café é em torno de R$ 300 a R$ 310. “Ainda dá para produtor ter lucro, mas neste preço ainda não consegue sanar os passivos de três anos de seca”, pondera. Ele lembrou que em 2017 o preço era de R$ 450 e já teve período que esteve a R$ 530.
