A Polícia Militar apreendeu, na entrada do Bairro Vila Nova, cinco homens acusados de assaltar uma padaria localizada no Bairro Boa Vista. De acordo com o boletim de ocorrência lavrado pela PM, no início da noite de segunda-feira (18), durante buscas, militares da Força Tática abordaram os cinco e, durante revista, foi encontrado com eles dinheiro, telefones celulares, alguns doces, além de maconha e um simulacro de pistola usado durante o assalto. A PM registra que o bando confessou ter assaltado o estabelecimento comercial.

Para a polícia, as vítimas, o proprietário e duas funcionárias, relataram que o bando entrou na padaria, com um deles apontando uma arma e exigindo que entregassem dinheiro e telefones celulares. Após recolherem o material e antes de fugirem, ainda disseram que se a polícia fosse chamada, retornariam para vingar. A PM registra também que um dos criminosos estava com mandado de prisão em aberto. O grupo, junto com o material arrecadado, foi levado para o Departamento de Polícia Judiciária de São Mateus.

Um funcionário de uma empresa de transporte coletivo foi assaltado na tarde de segunda enquanto levava um malote de dinheiro para uma agência bancária no centro da Cidade.
