O Indicador de Clima Econômico de julho deste ano do país passou de -11,4 pontos em abril para -45,9 pontos em julho. Segundo a Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), é a segunda queda do índice, que estava em 4,3 pontos em janeiro, em uma escala que varia de -100 (pior avaliação) a +100 pontos (melhor avaliação).
O resultado foi influenciado tanto pela avaliação dos especialistas sobre a situação atual da economia brasileira quanto em relação às expectativas futuras. O Índice da Situação Atual atingiu -88 pontos, apenas 12 pontos acima do nível mínimo e abaixo do resultado de abril (-56,5 pontos), mostrando menor satisfação. Já o Índice de Expectativas recuou de 47,8 para 12 pontos.
Na média, o clima da América Latina em julho ficou em -21,1 pontos (abaixo dos -5,2 pontos de abril). Entre os 11 países da região avaliados pela pesquisa, feita em parceria com o instituto alemão Ifo, o Brasil teve o quarto pior Indicador de Clima Econômico, ficando acima apenas da Venezuela (-100 pontos), Equador (-60) e Argentina (-51,3).
O melhor resultado da região foi apresentado pela Colômbia: 31,8 pontos. Entre os Brics, o Brasil teve o pior resultado, abaixo da África do Sul (-45,6 pontos), China (-25), Rússia (-2,3) e Índia (16,6).
