Diretor-geral da EDP Distribuidora, João Brito confirmou que a empresa projeta investimentos de R$ 300 milhões para o Espírito Santo. Nesse pacote de investimentos constam R$ 116 milhões para construção e instalação de uma linha de transmissão de energia elétrica de 230/138kv entre as subestações Linhares II, a ser ampliada, e São Mateus II, a ser construída.
Conforme a EDP, a previsão de início das obras é imediata e o prazo para conclusão é até agosto de 2020. O linhão foi projetado pela Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel), beneficiando aproximadamente 500 mil capixabas. Além disso, há a previsão ainda de novos investimentos na modernização das linhas de transmissão do balneário de Guriri.
