Três atletas do norte capixaba carimbaram os passaportes para disputar a final do Campeonato Brasileiro de Karatê, que acontecerá entre os dias 16 e 21 de outubro, em Contagem, Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (MG). Em mensagem à Rede TC, o treinador Marcos Alberto Buru ressalta que o destaque capixaba na Etapa do Maranhão, disputada de 31 de maio a 3 de junho, em São Luís, foi Joel Kock, de 10 anos, atleta do Cricaré Karatê Clube (CKC), campeão em kumite, categoria 10-11 anos menos de 40kg.

Além de Joel Kock, Natacha Durand e Wellington Gonçalves também conquistaram medalhas na Etapa do Maranhão.

Treinador de Joel, Buru disse ter ficado muito satisfeito com o resultado. “Ele é um aluno muito dedicado, disciplinado e nos representou muito bem, conquistando a medalha no Campeonato Brasileiro de Karatê. Gostaria de agradecer e parabenizar o Joel, pai de Joelzinho, pelo esforço que faz com o filho em levá-lo aos treinos e aos campeonatos. Parabéns mesmo” – enalteceu.

Outros dois atletas, de São Mateus, integrantes da Seleção Capixaba de Karatê, são Wellington Gonçalves, medalha de bronze em kata e de prata em kumite na categoria master (acima de 45 anos), e Natacha Durand, de 14 anos, medalha de bronze em kumite na categoria especial, que reúne atletas das faixas roxa, marrom e preta.

Ainda segundo Buru, o atleta Joel tem grande chance de conquistar medalhas na final. Conforme disse, em 2017 ele foi vice-campeão brasileiro em kata, e agora disputa um lugar no pódio em kumite.
